What Is Bowstring Method®
And Why Is It Different From Other Styles Of Bodywork?
Bowstring Method® is a bodywork system that is blazingly fast at removing restrictions, and a game-changer for those seeking the physical longevity achieved by maintaining a more fluid body. Bowstring improves shape, function and mobility within individual muscles, throughout muscle groups, and among related regions of the body. Not to be confused with massage – the Bowstring Method® is able to rapidly decrease areas of hypertonic (rigid, stiff) muscle tissue and provide long-lasting change.
The Bowstring Method® includes, but is not limited to, firm directional pressure and rhythmic oscillations performed without oils and without gliding over skin. Utilizing these intense, but uniquely tolerable techniques, bowstring partners well with flexibility and strength training to facilitate improved positioning of bones, muscles and nerves. The body is then finally free to lengthen and conform to a more optimal position, unleashing greater potential and a sense of well being, regardless of activity, and with fewer breakdowns.
Bowstring Method® for injury prevention/injury recovery
A body that has fluidity is better able to absorb forces and motion throughout all of its joints and muscles, rather than just a few. In this way, the areas typically most at risk of over-working (neck, low back, shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, foot, ankle, etc.) are less likely to break down from repetitive and localized strain. Fluidity is the goal if you’re interested in a body that is resilient and more impervious to injury -- a goal not accessible with flexibility and strength training alone. By improving the consistency of tone and removing the restrictions caused by hypertonicity, Bowstring helps create an environment in which the body can move more effortlessly and quickly without the unnecessary resistance and strain that leads to injury, pain and stiffness.
